- Europe, February 2006 -
In December 2005 I got a call from Sulynn with the idea of going on a French Ski Vacation in February. The idea: spend an entire week skiing/boarding, living in a chalet, and having a great time. Sounded good to me, so I threw my hat in. The pictures contained here are of that trip to Meribel France.
Joining Sulynn and I on the trip were a pair of Sulynn's chums from school, Liz and Daryl. Also joining us (to our surprise) were some great chalet-mates, Laura and Pippa, both teachers from London, England.
The chalet we stayed in was Le Petit Bouquetin, situated just up from Dick's Tea Bar in Meribel, France. Meribel is the "heart" of the 3 Vallyes region, and as such everything in the entire town is heart-shaped.
As a side note, the first night I arrived in Meribel I slipped on the stairs and fell down them, landing on the floor where I was unable to get up for many minutes. I ended up with a HUGE bruise and pain on my hip, and impacted 3rd vertebrae, and missing skin from my hand and knee. I also got to go to the doctor in France, who gave me some AWESOME pain meds that allowed me to snowboard that week.
Skiworld was very sorry for my fall, and rectified the situation with a case of wine, and some tack strip on the stairs to prevent future falls. Our Skiworld experience was very positive otherwise, and we were totally pampered and impressed by our host, Claire. Claire is super sweet, and the most amazing chef.
Enjoy!
